Historical Guild of Schwarzenberg

The Historical Guild of Schwarzenberg was established on August 13, 1990 with several hundred members interested in the history of the Schwarzenberg family. The guild is based in České Budějovice, the regional centre of Southern Bohemia.

The Historical Guild of Schwarzenberg issues its own journal Obnovená tradice (Renewed Tradition) which is perceived as a continuation of the original bulletin Tradice, founded by the "Association of Czech officers and servants of the Prince of Schwarzenberg in České Budějovice". All the articles and messages published there are in some way related to life in the former Schwarzenberg estate.

Originally, the Renewed Tradition journal was published as hand written manuscripts. During the trial an electronic version of the Renewed Tradition journal was developed.

An online journal environment was developed in the trial. This included support for the automated translation of the existing Corel Draw formatted documents into an XML format suitable for presentation in an online journal.

- The major trial output is the Obnovená tradice Portal http://krizik.felk.cvut.cz/tradice
- Six volumes of the journal have been made available online, including 136 articles.
